The Graveyard Shift

Shhh. The fog is thick now. You shouldn't be here. Graveyard shift, clock is slow. Something watching, where do I go? Shadow dancing on the wall. I hear the monster start to call. House is quiet, porch light out. Cobwebs hanging all about. Every window, pitch black glass. This kind of feeling happens fast. Don't need costumes, don't need a mask. The air is cold, it's a simple task. Hear the floor creak, hear the chain rattle. Getting ready for a final battle. Footsteps close, they're getting nearer. Look in the mirror, see something clearer. Can't scream out, the door is locked tight. Only one hour left of night. Graveyard shift, clock is slow. Something watching, where do I go? Shadow dancing on the wall. I hear the monster start to call. Turn the corner, see an empty chair. Something whispered in the dusty air. Feel the breathing right behind my neck. Time is melting, time is a wreck. That old record keeps skipping over. Feeling nervous, like a clover. Is it real? Is it all in my head? No point in sleeping in this old bed. I know I waited, I stayed too late. Sealed my future, locked my fate. Just one minute, gotta make a run. Didn't know the horror had just begun. The monster call... The monster call... Something watching on the wall... Graveyard shift...
