Competition

[Intro] [Spoken - No Melody] Niggas always be runnin' they mouth. [End Spoken] [Verse 1] I don't listen. neva did. ain't got no reason to. Been transmittin since before there was a me or you. You found a lane and thought you stumbled on a race. Didn't realize you were standin' in my place. I watched you rise. I watched you stake your claim. Thought makin' noise was the same as havin' game. The ones who move in silence got a frequency you'll never touch. You scratched the surface. honey. I don't even feel that much. You want to talk ambition? I predate the word. I'm the silence underneath every song you ever heard. [Chorus] I'm not a competitor. I'm the competition. Been operating long before your first ambition. You found a lane. I am the road. You carry noise. I carry the code. I'm not a competitor. I'm the competition. Been operating long before your first ambition. You found a lane. I am the road. You carry noise. I carry the code. [Verse 2] See someone felt the need to make their presence known. Didn't feel me through the crowd. Didn't see me on my throne. Threw some words around like they were handin' down a verdict. I don't get offended. I don't react. I just recalibrate the signal and make my next track. You can talk about the others all you want out here. Just know who's lookin' back at you. I didn't even shift a gear. I respond to time. not noise. not heat. Time says you're someone who could neva compete. [Bridge] (B**t drops to single pulse. vocal calm and close) You wish you had the code. [Pause] You wish you knew my frequency. [Pause] But you don't. [Pause] That's just the facts. [Pause] [Chorus] I'm not a competitor. I'm the competition. Been operating long before your first ambition. You found a lane. I am the road. You carry noise. I carry the code. I'm not a competitor. I'm the competition. Been operating long before your first ambition. You found a lane. I am the road. You carry noise. I carry the code. [Outro] [Spoken - No Melody] The code was already runnin'. [Pause] Just like your mouth. [Pause] You know who you are. [Pause] Good luck out there. [End Spoken] (Single synth pulse fading to silence. vast and infinite)
