Back in the garden, where the sun used to shine, We were just kids, playing games so divine. You pulled my hair, I flipped you down low, Laughing through the tears, putting on a show. Then the world paused, whispers turned to sighs, COVID came knocking, and we said our goodbyes. From playground brawls to silence out loud, Memories lingered in the midst of the crowd. In seventh grade halls, love found its way, We dated for a moment, then drifted away. Friends once again, with feelings that burned, Through the ups and the downs, lessons to be learned. a clash like thunder, words we didn't mean, But underneath the anger, was a love still unseen. We patched it together, stronger than before, In the heart of a storm, we found what we adored. Confusion crept in, doubts filled my mind, Was he just a friend? Could love be so blind? Asked my best friend, “What do you think?” She smiled and said, “Girl, don’t let it sink.” High school was tricky, played it safe from the start, Said no when you asked, pushed you from my heart. Lost in my head, I almost let you go, Almost ruined the chance for our real love to grow. But I turned it around, listened close to my heart, Gave you a chance, oh, we’d never drift apart.
