I gave you sugar, you gave me decay You crept in my mouth when the lights went away I skipped the floss, and I’d laugh it off Now I’m sittin’ in this chair with a numb jaw You liked it best when I didn’t care Sippin’ soda with my tangled hair You told me "brushing’s such a pain," But now my teeth look like a candy cane (cracked and striped) Didn’t think twice When I ate that ice Didn’t rinse, didn’t spit, didn’t brush at night But now I know That plaque will grow If you don’t brush it off—it steals the show Yeah, I made some real gross mistakes Skipped all my brushes at night I should’ve known it was bad When my gums got red and tight Thought candy made me look cool Now I’m just toothless and weak You snuck in like a disease As you built your plaque on my teeth, oh Plaque pirate, snack tyrant Rottin’ me out like a sugar-crazed monster! You never warned me 'bout the drill sound Now I'm frozen, mouth open wide Dentist’s got the X-rays now Said I’m riddled with cavities inside I used to laugh at the brush-nuts Now I’m stuck with a mouth that cuts Every sip burns like regret And that mirror’s one I won’t forget Didn’t take time To brush two times Didn’t floss, didn’t rinse, didn’t make it right Now it’s too late To turn back fate Wish I listened when Mom said “Don’t be fake!” Yeah, I made some real gross mistakes Thought “one more snack” would be fine I should’ve known I was wrong When my breath could clear a line Brushed once and thought I was done Floss was “for losers and geeks” But plaque don’t care who you are It just chews your teeth while you sleep, oh Plaque pirate, snack tyrant Sinkin’ me deep like a tartar-time bandit! Now I swish and I floss And I time my brush Two minutes long and I never rush Electric b**t, with my minty paste No more sugar sneaks, no tooth decay!
