She takes great pride in her youthhow it shimmered like glass

She takes great pride in her youth how it shimmered like glass in sunlight, how mirrors once bowed to her beauty, and time— time seemed too humble to touch her. But may I tell you— what happened to youth was a story of one night. It didn’t fade slowly, nor whisper its farewell. It vanished— like a candle caught in the wind, leaving the scent of wax and a room full of silence. The body grew old, wrinkles tracing maps of forgotten dreams, hands that once trembled with love now tremble with memory. And the soul— the soul, too, grew old. It stopped dancing before the dawn, stopped chasing the wild rain, stopped believing that tomorrow was a promise instead of a price. Now she sits before the mirror, where youth once sang her name, and the glass does not sing— it listens. And in that still reflection, she learns this cruel mercy: that beauty was never meant to stay, that even the stars burn themselves to be seen, and every light we love is dying as it shines. So yes— she takes great pride in her youth, but I have seen what happens to youth in one night: it grows old, and so does the soul, both quietly, both forever.
