I read too many books
To find some answers
To the things I did not understand.
I dealt with all kinds of ideas:
Quantum mechanics, strange philosophies.
Kant changed my mind’s state,
And the poems by Blake
Finally put the icing on the cake.
In vain, in vain —
No knowledge could I gain.
In vain, in vain —
Confusion struck my brain.
Physicians, religions,
From facts over fiction
To complex algorithms.
Whoever had something new to say
Was invited to enter my brain.
Insane, insane —
I overfed my brain.
Insane, insane —
My mind went down the drain.
And not to forget all the weird musicians:
They crawled into my mind with their lyrics.
If I had been lazier,
I wouldn’t have gone crazier.
But my mind is still subject to change,
So if I’m lucky, I’ll get rearranged.
