old bedroom

The posters still lean on the walls, Dust settles where the sunlight falls. A stack of books I swore I’d read, The pillow keeps the shape of my head. I thought I had outgrown it, But it’s waiting here, the same. This room stayed still while I was changing, Time moved on but left these walls. The desk is stacked with old exams, I trace the lines with trembling hands. And I thought I had outgrown it, But it’s waiting here, the same. This room stayed still while I was changing, Time moved on but left these walls. I see my childhood frozen, waiting, Like it never let me go at all. I left to find the world outside, But part of me stayed here. In the quiet of this room tonight, I see the boy I used to be. This room stayed still while I was changing, Time moved on but left these walls. I see my childhood frozen, waiting, Like it never let me go at all Like it never let me go… Like it never let me go at all. The trophies line the wooden shelf, A photograph of my younger self. I see my childhood frozen, waiting,The desk is stacked with old exams, I trace the lines with trembling hands.
