Goodbye, Good Friend

We're gathered here to lay him down and speak the words that we have found, to comfort us and honor him, this Father, Husband, Son and Friend. He treated friends and family, in a way he hoped would be, respectful of their dignity, and that was always plain to see. So, pray for him, weep for him, but smile while you're remembering, he was all he might have been, in this life till the end. We pray thee Lord his soul you'll take, down streets of gold through pearly gates, St Peter won't you welcome him, this Father, Husband, Son and Friend. Help us through these hours of grief, make us strong in our belief, that God forgives and then receives, this man who lived life decently. We pray for him, weep for him, but smile while we're remembering, he was all he might have been, in this life till the end. At Christmas time, Thanks giving, and holidays, found in between, please say a prayer, and think of him, this Father, Husband, Son and Friend. We leave thee now to rest in peace, your laughter, love and joy we'll miss. For knowing you we have been blessed, and won't forget you lived your best So, pray for him, weep for him, but smile while you're remembering, he was all he might have been, in this life till the end.
